Popham Airfield Reopens Following Plane Crash

As previously reported, a 62-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when a light aircraft crashed and overturned at Popham Airfield, leaving him trapped inside.

The incident happened shortly before 6pm on Sunday, August 23, involving a single light aircraft.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was freed from the aircraft before being taken to Southampton Hospital by road ambulance.

He was described as having serious and potentially life-threatening and life-changing injuries.

Following the crash, Popham Airfield was closed while emergency services and investigators dealt with the incident.

The airfield subsequently reopened on Tuesday, August 25.
