1. Be respectful
Treat other people with respect, even when you disagree with them. Healthy debate is welcome, but personal attacks, insults, bullying or harassment are not.
2. Keep it relevant
Please make sure your comments relate to the article, story or discussion. Comments that are completely unrelated may be removed.
3. No abusive or offensive content
Comments containing threatening, abusive, discriminatory or deliberately offensive language will not be tolerated.
4. No hate speech or discrimination
Comments attacking someone because of their race, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or any other personal characteristic will be removed.
5. Don’t make personal accusations
Please don’t use the comments section to make allegations about individuals, businesses or organisations. If you have a genuine concern, contact Overton Radio directly so we can deal with it appropriately.
6. Protect people’s privacy
Don’t post private or personal information about other people, including phone numbers, addresses, email addresses or other identifying information without their permission.
7. No spam or advertising
Comments should not be used for unsolicited advertising, repeated promotional messages, links to unrelated websites or attempts to promote products or services.
8. Don’t post anything illegal
Comments must not contain material that encourages or promotes illegal activity, threats of violence or other unlawful behaviour.
9. Think before you post
Once you’ve posted a comment, it becomes part of a public discussion. Please take a moment to check what you’ve written before pressing submit.
10. Moderation is at Overton Radio’s discretion
Overton Radio reserves the right to remove comments that break these rules, disrupt the conversation or are otherwise considered inappropriate. We may also restrict or remove commenting privileges for users who repeatedly ignore the rules.
11. Disagreeing is fine. Being unpleasant isn’t.
You don’t have to agree with everyone. That’s part of having a community conversation. Please challenge opinions and ideas rather than attacking the person behind them.
12. We may moderate comments
Comments may be moderated before or after publication. We cannot guarantee that every comment will be published, and we may remove comments without prior notice where necessary.
