Organisers of the event which will be held at The Red Lion on Sunday 30th August are excited to announce Funkline as the final act of the day.
The Andover-based five-piece band plays an upbeat mix of funk, soul, disco and pop classics, spanning 7 decades of music.
Guitarist James Mitchell says, “I play The Red Lion frequently as a duo with my singing partner Kayleigh, so it’s great to bring the whole band to Overton and celebrate the birthday of Overton Radio and the great work of Test Valley Men’s Shed.
“Expect some hi-energy, well-known songs from Michael Jackson and Maroon 5 to Stevie Wonder and The Bee Gees”.
The event starts at midday and also features local acts Lani Clayton, John Bird, and Mya as well as jazzy trio Take Three and popular singer-entertainer Jake Ward.
Funkline with Guy (Lead Vocals), James (Guitar & Backing Vocals), Simon (Bass & Backing Vocals), Tom (Keys, Sax & Backing Vocals) and Luke (Drums) are scheduled for a 7.00/7.30pm start.
The event also features local traders such as Gaynor Francis from The Village Refillery (former Renasci Designs), Sarah Ross’s Vita Nova handmade jewellery and The Haven – a calm, wellbeing space for younger visitors run by qualified teacher and SEND/SEMH specialist Michelle Green.
Two spaces remain for anyone wishing to claim their free pitch on the day.
Chili Master Chris Cloke, a former winner of the ‘Come Dine With Me’ TV show will host the event’s Chilli Challenge and says, “I can’t wait. This is going to be a really great event”.
