Originally operating as Rensaci Designs, Gaynor now runs ‘The Village Refillery’ on the junction of the High Street and Red Lion Lane, saving
people money by offering products ‘in desired quantities’, rather than amounts
that are ‘prescribed by Supermarkets’.
Selling nuts, seeds, cereals, cleaning and bodycare products
as well as Pick’n’Mix sweets, ‘The Village Refillery ‘is increasing in demand, having
been part of Overton life since 2024.
“As well as reducing packaging waste, we are much more cost-effective than the supermarkets”, says Gaynor.
“Like an old-style corner shop, people can come and buy the amount
of product they want, without being dictated by the global corporations that predetermine
pre-packed product sizes”.
Gaynor will be one of the many traders at Carpark Fest, a
mini-parody of Chris Evans’ Carfest this Bank Holiday Sunday at The Red Lion
between midday and around 9.00pm.
The event features live music from artists such as Joh Bird,
Jake Ward and Funkline and has been arranged to raise money for the village’s community
radio station Overton Radio and the Test Valley Men’s Shed.
Although the event is free to attend, there will be plenty
of ways to help support our local charitable causes. Gaynor is offering a raffle of 3kg of Pick’n’Mix
sweets, with tickets at £1 per strip.
Other local traders include local jewellery creator Sarah
Ross (Vita Nova), 3D models (Jasmine) and wood carvings from Test Valley Men’s
Shed.
Michelle Green from The Haven will also be part of the free event. Her ‘tent’ is a ‘calm space for
learning, mentoring and wellbeing’ for younger visitors.
As a partner of Sustainable Overton, Gaynor says, “The Village
Refillery helps reduce food waste.
“For instance, if you want delux Granola, we have it on
offer. And ours is fresh from a family-run local supplier, not some dried-out product
because it has been sat in a warehouse for months on end.
“In fact, we offer over 400 different products, sold in the precise quantities
needed by our customers, without any additional packaging costs.
“And that includes food as well as health and beauty products
like body wash and shampoo”.
Carpark-Fest is August Bank Holiday Sunday at The Red Lion in
Overton between 12pm and 9.30pm. The live music acts include:
